What to Expect When Attending The Barber School

So, you have decided to hone in on your craft or learn a new skill by enrolling in The Barber School. Now what? Here is what you can expect while attending The Barber School:

  1. Welcoming and Friendly Environment At each of our convenient locations, we have a group of licensed and professional staff members who are willing and ready to help you achieve your goal in styling and barbering. We are not successful unless you are successful. We prepare you to be in control of your future and we know how to do it while having a little fun. 
  2. Theory Education  Upon enrolling into The Barber School, you will receive books and a kit which includes various supplies to cut and style hair. Theory education will be taught in professional ethics, sterilization, barber shop safety and sanitation and common skin disorders. The skills you gain from barber school often include business management, so if your career leads you to opening your own shop or becoming a manager at a salon, you’ll have the essential skills to be successful.
  3. Comprehensive Education in Men and Boy’s Hair Care and Grooming This includes, but isn’t limited to, hands-on coursework in hair cutting, shaving, straight razor techniques, honing and stropping, shampooing, scalp massage, permanent treatments, hair coloring and mustache and beard design with mannequins and actual clients who visit the school for barbering or styling services.
  4. Prepare for the Barber License Exam  The Barber School’s program is designed to prepare you to take and pass your state barber license test that is provided by the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.
